Kissimmee State Park

Lake Kissimmee State Park is located north of State Road 60, 15 miles (24 km) east of Lake Wales. Visitors can enjoy a variety of activities including boating, canoeing, kayaking and fishing as well as camping, hiking, biking, horseback riding trails, and nature viewing. Buster Island Loop 6.8 mi Loop

• Lake Kissimmee State Park charges a fee to enter. Fees are per vehicle or per visitor entering on foot or bicycle. The Florida State Parks Annual Pass is also available for individuals and families. This well-maintained route travels clockwise in order to provide shade in the later portion of the loop. The first bit is exposed which leads to a nice forested area about 3/4 of the way. There are many opportunities for visitors to observe wildlife as this area is abundant with many diverse species.

Lake Kissimmee North Loop 
6.5 mi Loop

• Lake Kissimmee State Park charges a fee to enter. Fees are per vehicle or per visitor entering on foot or bicycle. The Florida State Parks Annual Pass is also available for individuals and families. This trail is half-shaded and half-exposed, and sun protection is recommended. Wildlife is very common to observe on this trail so be on the lookout for a variety of species. Visitors enjoy the serene woods in the coastal oaks. The trail itself is well-marked and well-maintained. The trail can become muddy during wet conditions and waterproof shoes are recommended.

Gobbler Ridge 2.8 mi Loop

This trail travels mostly on a forest road rather than singletrack but this is one of the most beautiful areas in the park. The coastal prairie and oak hammocks provide a haven for the abundant wildlife in the area. The trail leads to the shore of the lake which visitors can take in the beautiful views and observe the wading birds on the banks.

Lake Kissimmee Great Loop 9.2mi Loop

• Lake Kissimmee State Park charges a fee to enter. Fees are per vehicle or per visitor entering on foot or bicycle. The Florida State Parks Annual Pass is also available for individuals and families. This route combines several trails in the park to create a long loop. The route itself is well-marked and maintained. There are many beautiful wildflowers along the way, and many opportunities to observe wildlife in the area. This is a great trail and one of the longer loops in the park that gives users a thorough experience of the area.
